Warning
- Epilim may cause liver dysfunction; regular liver function tests are recommended, especially in the first six months of treatment.
- Sodium valproate can cause birth defects and developmental problems if used during pregnancy. It is typically not recommended for women of childbearing age unless no alternatives are available and effective contraception is in place. Always discuss potential risks with a healthcare provider.
- Rare cases of pancreatitis have been reported. Patients should seek immediate medical attention if they experience abdominal pain.
- Long-term use may affect bone density; calcium and vitamin D supplementation might be recommended.
