Avaxim 80U Paed 1 Syringe 0.5ml is a pediatric vaccine that guards against hepatitis A. Avaxim 80U Paed 1 Syringe 0.5ml is used to protect children aged 12 months to 15 years against hepatitis A.
It is also recommended for children travelling to areas where hepatitis A is common, those with lifestyle risks, or those who may be exposed to the virus.
The primary vaccination involves a single 0.5 ml dose given in the muscle. A booster dose of 0.5 ml is suggested 6 to 12 months later for long-term protection.
If needed, this booster can be given up to 36 months after the first dose. The vaccine should be injected into the deltoid or thigh muscle, not into a vein, under the skin, or into the skin.

- Avaxim 80u should not be administered to individuals who are allergic to any component of the vaccine, including neomycin.
