Es-Omecos 40mg Tablets contain the active ingredient Esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to reduce stomach acid production. It works by inhibiting the proton pump in the stomach lining, which is responsible for producing acid. Active Ingredients: Esomeprazole (as Esomeprazole Magnesium) 40mg.

Suggested Use
Es-Omecos 40mg Tablets are indicated for the following conditions:
- Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): To treat erosive esophagitis and relieve heartburn symptoms.
- Peptic Ulcers: For the healing of gastric and duodenal ulcers.
- Helicobacter pylori eradication: As part of a combination therapy for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori in peptic ulcer disease.
- Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: To manage excess stomach acid production.
- Prevention of NSAID-induced gastric ulcers: In patients requiring non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) therapy.
Dosage is determined by the doctor based on the condition being treated.
Warning
- If you are allergic to Esomeprazole, other proton pump inhibitors, or any of the other ingredients in this product, do not take Es-Omecos.
- Es-Omecos should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. A reduced dose may be necessary for those with severe liver impairment.
- Caution is advised for patients with kidney disease, as dosage adjustments may be needed.
- Prolonged use of Es-Omecos (over 1 year) may increase the risk of fractures, kidney disease, and vitamin B12 deficiency. Regular monitoring is recommended.
- As Esomeprazole reduces stomach acid, it may increase the risk of gastrointestinal infections such as Clostridium difficile.
- Es-Omecos may interact with certain drugs, including clopidogrel, warfarin, and some antifungal or anti-viral medications. Always inform your doctor about all the medications you are currently taking.
- Es-Omecos should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed, and it is excreted in breast milk. Consult your doctor before use if pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Some common side effects include headaches, nausea, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, and flatulence.
- Serious side effects are rare but may include severe allergic reactions, liver problems, and blood disorders. If any of these symptoms persist or worsen, seek medical attention immediately.
