Co-Tasmi 80mg+12.5mg Tablets 14’s helps lower blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels and promoting the excretion of excess fluid, thus, reducing the risk of heart-related complications such as stroke and heart attack. Active Substances: Telmisartan 80 mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg per tablet.

Suggested Use
Co-Tasmi is primarily indicated for:
- The treatment of essential hypertension.
- Reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke in patients with cardiovascular conditions or diabetes.
Dosage:
The recommended dosage for Co-Tasmi is:
- Initial Dose: 40mg of Telmisartan once daily.
- Maintenance Dose: Depending on the patient’s response, the dose may be adjusted up to a maximum of 80mg once daily.
- It can be taken with or without food. Regular monitoring of blood pressure is advised to assess effectiveness.
Warning
- Contraindications:
- Known hypersensitivity to Telmisartan, Hydrochlorothiazide, or any component of the formulation.
- Severe renal impairment, anuria, or severe liver dysfunction.
- Pregnancy and lactation.
- Co-administration with aliskiren in diabetic patients.
- Precautions:
- Monitor potassium, sodium, and other electrolytes.
- Regular monitoring is recommended, especially in patients with compromised renal function.
- Use with caution in patients with mild to moderate liver dysfunction.
- Advise caution during the first doses to avoid dizziness or fainting.
- Side Effects:
- Common: Dizziness, fatigue, nausea, increased uric acid levels, electrolyte disturbances.
- Rare but Serious: Severe hypotension, angioedema, and hypersensitivity reactions.
- Drug Interactions:
- Avoid concurrent use with potassium-sparing diuretics or supplements.
- NSAIDs may reduce the antihypertensive effect.
- Use with care when combining with other antihypertensive agents to avoid excessive blood pressure reduction.
