Carditan H Tablets is a combination antihypertensive medication that’s used to effective manage high blood pressure (hypertension). It combines two active ingredients that work jointly to lower blood pressure, reducing the risk of cardiovascular events like stroke and heart attack. Active Substances: Losartan 50mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg per tablet.

Carditan H Tablets are primarily used for:

Dosage:
- Recommended Dosage: Take one tablet daily, with or without food, preferably at the same time each day.

Warning
Do Not Use if:
- Allergic to Losartan, Hydrochlorothiazide, or any other ingredients in the tablet.
- Pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Diagnosed with severe kidney or liver impairment.
- Suffering from anuria (inability to produce urine).
Cautions:
- Use cautiously in patients with electrolyte imbalances (e.g., low potassium or sodium levels).
- Regular monitoring of kidney function, blood pressure, and electrolytes is necessary.
- Patients with diabetes or those on aliskiren-containing products should avoid this medication.
Possible Side Effects:
- Dizziness or lightheadedness, especially after the first dose.
- Electrolyte imbalance, such as low potassium or sodium levels.
- Increased urination, especially in the initial days of therapy.
- Rarely, angioedema or severe allergic reactions.
Interactions:
- Avoid use with potassium supplements or potassium-sparing diuretics unless directed by a doctor.
- Can interact with NSAIDs, lithium, and other antihypertensive agents.
- Alcohol may enhance the blood pressure-lowering effect and increase dizziness.
