Carditan 50mg Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) and reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications, such as heart attacks and strokes. It is also effective in treating diabetic nephropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes. It relaxes blood vessels, enabling smoother blood flow. Active Substances: Losartan Potassium 50 mg per tablet.

Suggested Use
Carditan 50mg is indicated for the:
- Treatment of Hypertension (High Blood Pressure): Helps lower blood pressure levels.
- Reduction of Stroke Risk: Particularly beneficial for patients with left ventricular hypertrophy.
- Diabetic Nephropathy: Protects the kidneys in patients with diabetes.
- Heart Failure and Myocardial Infarction: May be used in managing these conditions.
Dosage:
- Typical Starting Dose: 50mg once daily, with or without food.

Warning
- Pregnancy: Losartan has a black box warning due to potential harm to the fetus. It should not be taken during pregnancy or by those planning to become pregnant.
- Low Blood Pressure: Monitor for symptoms such as dizziness or fainting; if experienced, lie down and consult a doctor immediately.
- Kidney Disease: Use with caution; monitor for signs of kidney dysfunction, including swelling or unexplained weight gain.
