Suggested Use
Sita-Met 50/500mg Tablets are used to:
- Improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes.
- Be used as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycaemic control.
- Be combined with other diabetes medications, such as sulphonylureas or thiazolidinediones, when single therapy is not sufficient.
Dosage:
- Initial Dosage: For patients inadequately controlled on Metformin alone, the usual starting dose is 50 mg Sitagliptin twice daily (100 mg total daily dose) plus the dose of Metformin already being taken.
- Maintenance Dosage: The dose should be individualized based on the patient’s current regimen, effectiveness, and tolerability. Administration: Take one tablet orally, with water, once daily, preferably at the same time each day. Take with meals to reduce the chance of an upset stomach.
