Molox Tablets 400mg are potent antibiotics containing moxifloxacin, a fluoroquinolone that prevents bacteria from replicating their DNA and repairing themselves, leading to their death.

Suggested Use
Molox Tablets 400mg are prescribed for:
- Exacerbations of chronic bronchitis
- Acute sinusitis
- Community-acquired pneumonia
- Mild to moderate pelvic inflammatory disease
- Complicated skin and soft tissue infections
Dosage:
- Adults: The typical dosage is 400mg taken once daily. The duration of treatment varies depending on the type and severity of the infection:
- Chronic bronchitis: 5-10 days
- Acute sinusitis: 7 days
- Community-acquired pneumonia: 7-14 days
- Pelvic inflammatory disease: 14 days
- Skin and soft tissue infections: 7-21 days
Warning
- Do not use if you are allergic to moxifloxacin or other fluoroquinolones. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience symptoms of an allergic reaction, such as rash, itching, or swelling.
- Moxifloxacin can increase the risk of tendonitis and tendon rupture, especially in older adults and those taking corticosteroids.
- May cause dizziness, lightheadedness, or seizures. Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until you know how the medication affects you.
- Inform your doctor if you have a history of heart problems, as moxifloxacin can cause QT prolongation, leading to serious heart rhythm disturbances.
- Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding before using this medication.
- Common side effects include nausea, diarrhoea, headache, and dizziness. Serious side effects may include severe allergic reactions, tendon rupture, and liver or kidney problems.
