Dafraclav 457mg BD Suspension contains amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. Used in children and adults who require a liquid formulation, it is an effective, twice-daily-dosing broad-spectrum antibiotic. Active ingredients: Amoxicillin (400mg/5ml) and Clavulanic Acid (57mg/5ml).

Suggested Use
Dafraclav 457mg Forte Suspension is commonly prescribed for infections of the:
- Respiratory tract (e.g., sinusitis, bronchitis, pneumonia)
- Urinary tract
- Skin and soft tissues (e.g., cellulitis)
- Ear (e.g., otitis media)
- Throat (e.g., tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis)
- Bone and joint infections (e.g., osteomyelitis)
- Severe dental abscesses with spreading cellulitis
Dosage:
- Children: The dosage depends on the child’s weight and the severity of the infection. Typically, 25–45mg/kg/day of amoxicillin in divided doses, administered every 12 hours.
- Shake well before use. Administer using the provided measuring device for accuracy.
- Duration of treatment is usually 5–10 days but should be determined by the physician.
Warning

- Do not use in patients allergic to penicillins, cephalosporins, or other beta-lactam antibiotics.
- Use with caution in patients with liver dysfunction. Monitor liver function tests during prolonged use.
- Dosage adjustment may be required for patients with kidney disease.
- May cause diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting. Contact a healthcare provider if severe diarrhea occurs (potential sign of Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea).
- May reduce the efficacy of oral contraceptives. Use additional non-hormonal contraceptive measures.
- Discontinue immediately if an allergic reaction occurs.
Storage Instructions:
- Store the reconstituted suspension in a refrigerator (2–8°C).
- Discard any unused suspension after 7 days.
