Plavix 75mg Tablets are used to stop blood clots from forming. They work by preventing platelets from sticking together, thus lowering the chances of having a stroke, heart attack, or other major heart problems. The active ingredient is Clopidogrel bisulfate, equivalent to 75mg of Clopidogrel.

Suggested Use
Plavix is commonly prescribed for:
- Preventing strokes and heart attacks in patients with a history of these conditions.
- Reducing the risk of blood clots in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), recent myocardial infarction (MI), or established peripheral arterial disease.
Dosage:
The typical dosage for Plavix is:
- Acute coronary syndrome (ACS): A single 300 mg loading dose followed by 75 mg once daily.
- Recent MI, recent stroke, or established peripheral arterial disease: 75 mg once daily without a loading dose.
Warning
- Bleeding risk: Plavix can increase the risk of bleeding, including severe or life-threatening bleeding. It should not be used in patients with active pathological bleeding, such as peptic ulcers or intracranial haemorrhage.
- Discontinuation: Stopping Plavix suddenly can increase the risk of heart attack or stroke. It should be discontinued 5 days before elective surgery with a major risk of bleeding.
- Drug interactions: Plavix may interact with other medications, including omeprazole and esomeprazole, which can reduce its effectiveness.
