Panto Denk 40mg Tablets work to reduce stomach acid production. They are effective for treating peptic ulcers and GERD. The enteric coating ensures the active ingredient is released in the small intestine for better absorption.

Suggested Use
Panto Denk 40mg is indicated for:
- Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): Treatment of erosive or ulcerative esophagitis caused by reflux of stomach acid.
- Peptic Ulcers: Management of gastric and duodenal ulcers.
- Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: Treatment of pathological hypersecretory conditions.
- Helicobacter pylori Eradication (in combination therapy): As part of a regimen to treat H. pylori infection and reduce the risk of ulcer recurrence.
Dosage:
Adults
- GERD and Peptic Ulcers: 40mg once daily for 4-8 weeks.
- Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: Initial dose of 40mg twice daily, adjusted based on response.
- H. pylori Eradication (triple therapy): 40mg twice daily in combination with two antibiotics (e.g., amoxicillin and clarithromycin) for 7-14 days.
Children (12 years and above)
- 40mg once daily for up to 8 weeks for GERD.
Administration: Take the tablet 30 minutes before a meal. Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew.
Warning
- Avoid if allergic to Pantoprazole or other PPIs.
- Use with caution in patients with severe hepatic impairment; regular monitoring of liver enzymes is advised.
- Long-term use may increase the risk of vitamin B12 deficiency, bone fractures, and Clostridium difficile infection.
- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Use only if needed and prescribed by a doctor.
- May reduce the absorption of drugs requiring acidic pH (e.g., ketoconazole, atazanavir). Inform your doctor about all medications being taken.
- Rule out malignancy before use, as Pantoprazole may mask symptoms of gastric cancer.
Common side effects may include:
