Lipitor 20mg Tablets are used to control cholesterol and decrease the risk of cardiovascular issues. They lower “bad” cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides and increase “good” cholesterol (HDL). This supports heart health and helps avoid problems like heart attacks and strokes. The active substance is Atorvastatin Calcium, equivalent to 20mg of atorvastatin.

Suggested Use
Lipitor is used to:
- Lower levels of “bad” cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein, or LDL) and triglycerides in the blood.
- Increase levels of “good” cholesterol (high-density lipoprotein, or HDL).
- Reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other heart-related complications in people with or at risk of heart disease.
- Treat familial heterozygous hypercholesterolemia in children and teenagers aged 10 to 17 years.
Dosage:
The recommended starting dosage for adults is 10mg to 20mg once daily. The dosage range is 10mg to 80mg once daily, depending on the patient’s condition and response to treatment. Lipitor can be taken with or without food.
Warning
- Do not take Lipitor if you have liver disease or cirrhosis.
- Lipitor can cause muscle problems, including muscle breakdown, which can lead to kidney failure.
- Serious drug interactions can occur when certain medicines are used together with Lipitor. Inform your healthcare provider about all the medicines you are taking.
- Lipitor should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Avoid drinking more than two alcoholic beverages per day while taking Lipitor.
