Atorvastatin 20mg Tablets 28’s

KSh 200.00

Atorvastatin, a medication categorized as an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor or statin, is commonly prescribed to decrease cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the bloodstream. By impeding the production of cholesterol in the body, Atorvastatin aids in preventing the accumulation of cholesterol on artery walls. This mechanism helps maintain unimpeded blood flow to vital organs such as the heart, brain, and other bodily tissues.

Why You'll Love It

Atorvastatin is prescribed in conjunction with a balanced diet, weight loss, and regular exercise to mitigate the risk of heart attack and stroke, as well as to minimize the likelihood of requiring heart surgery for individuals with existing heart disease or those at risk of developing it. Additionally, it is utilized to reduce the levels of harmful substances like low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol and triglycerides in the bloodstream, while simultaneously increasing the levels of beneficial high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol. Atorvastatin may also be administered to children and teenagers aged 10 to 17 years with familial heterozygous hypercholesterolemia to lower cholesterol and other fatty substances in their blood. The recommended dosage for adults ranges from 10mg to 80mg per day, depending on the specific indication, cholesterol levels, and concurrent medication. Typically, it is taken once daily, at any time of the day, and can be consumed with or without food.
