Glypin 4mg Tablets contain Glimepiride, a sulfonylurea used to manage blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes by stimulating insulin release from the pancreas to lower high glucose levels.

Suggested Use
- Glypin 4mg is used to manage blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, particularly in individuals whose blood sugar levels are not adequately controlled by diet and exercise alone.
- It may be used alone or in combination with other diabetes medications, including metformin or insulin.
Dosage:
- Initial Dose: Typically, the starting dose is 1mg once daily, adjusted based on blood glucose response.
- Maintenance Dose: Dosage may be gradually increased to 4mg or as directed by a healthcare provider.
- Maximum Dose: Do not exceed 8mg per day.
Administration: Take Glypin 4mg once daily with breakfast or the first main meal. Swallow the tablet whole with water.
Warning
- Glypin can cause low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Symptoms may include dizziness, sweating, and shaking. Ensure regular meals to reduce risk.
- Avoid Glypin if you are allergic to Glimepiride or any other sulfonylurea medications.
- Alcohol can increase the risk of hypoglycemia; limit or avoid alcohol while on this medication.
- Caution is advised in patients with liver or kidney impairment; dosage adjustments may be necessary.
- Glypin is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult a healthcare provider for alternative diabetes management.
- Certain medications, such as beta-blockers, anticoagulants, and other diabetes medications, may interact with Glypin. Inform your doctor about all medications you are taking.
Always follow your doctor’s recommendations regarding diet, exercise, and medication adjustments. Regular blood sugar monitoring is crucial while on Glypin 4mg.
