Cipronat 500mg Tablets are classified as a second-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic. They work by preventing bacteria from using essential enzymes for DNA replication and repair, which kills the bacteria that cause infections. Active Substances: Ciprofloxacin 500 mg per tablet.

Suggested Use
Cipronat 500mg Tablets are indicated for the treatment of:
- Urinary Tract Infections
- Lower Respiratory Tract Infections
- Skin and Soft Tissue Infections
- Gastrointestinal Infections
- Bone and Joint Infections
- Infections caused by susceptible bacteria, including but not limited to:
- Pneumonia
- Sinusitis
- Gonorrhoea
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease exacerbations
Dosage:
The typical dosage for Cipronat 500mg is:
- Adults: Generally, 500 mg to 750 mg taken twice daily for a duration of 7 to 14 days, depending on the severity and type of infection.
- Children and Adolescents: Not generally recommended except for specific infections (e.g., complicated urinary tract infections, anthrax exposure). Dosage is weight-dependent and must be determined by a healthcare provider.
- Dose adjustments may be necessary for patients with renal or hepatic impairment.
Take with or without food, with plenty of water. Avoid taking with dairy products or calcium-fortified beverages, which may reduce absorption.
Warning
Cipronat should be used with caution in the following situations:
- Do not use if allergic to ciprofloxacin or any other ingredients in the formulation. Seek immediate medical attention if signs of severe allergic reactions occur (e.g., rash, swelling, difficulty breathing)
- Patients with renal or hepatic impairment should consult their physician before use, as dosage adjustments may be necessary.
- Ciprofloxacin has been associated with an increased risk of tendon rupture, particularly in older adults or those on corticosteroids. Patients should report any sudden pain or swelling in tendons.
- Caution is advised for individuals with a history of seizures or mental health issues, as ciprofloxacin may exacerbate these conditions.
- Children and Adolescents: Cipronat is not recommended for use in children under 18 years due to potential effects on bone growth
