Inhalers
Suggested Use
Seroflo 25/250 Inhaler is prescribed for:
- Asthma: To control and prevent symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing.
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD): To manage symptoms like shortness of breath, coughing, and chest discomfort.
Dosage:
- Adults and children aged 12 years and older: Typically, one inhalation (250/25 mcg) twice daily. The exact dosage should be determined by a healthcare provider based on individual needs.
- Missed Dose: If a dose is missed, take it as soon as you remember, but do not double the dose. Wait at least 12 hours before the next dose.
Warning
- Seroflo should not be used as a rescue inhaler for sudden breathing problems; a separate quick-relief inhaler should be used in such cases.
- Common side effects may include cough, throat irritation, headache, and oral fungal infections. Patients should gargle with warm water after use to minimize the risk of infections.
- Patients may need regular monitoring of blood potassium levels, as both salmeterol and fluticasone can affect these levels.
- It is not recommended for patients with mild asthma or those who do not require regular treatment. A healthcare provider should determine the appropriate strength based on disease severity.
- The use of a spacer device is recommended for patients who may have difficulty coordinating inhalation with actuation. However, switching between different spacer devices may affect the dose delivered.
