Dosage:
- The typical starting dose for adults is 40mg once daily.
- Dosage may be adjusted based on individual response and medical advice.
It’s important to take the medication at the same time each day for optimal results.
Warning
- Avoid use in individuals allergic to telmisartan or any of its components.
- Not recommended during pregnancy. Discontinue immediately if pregnancy is detected. Avoid use while breastfeeding.
- Use with caution in patients with severe kidney or liver conditions.
- Monitor blood pressure in patients who are volume-depleted or have a history of dehydration.
- May increase potassium levels; regular monitoring is advised, especially in patients using potassium supplements or diuretics.
- May cause dizziness or fatigue; avoid tasks requiring alertness until you know how the medication affects you.
- Common Side effects: Dizziness, fatigue, back pain, and upper respiratory tract infections.
- Rare but serious: Hypotension, renal impairment, and hyperkalemia.
