Plendil Tabs 10mg is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It belongs to a class of drugs known as calcium channel blockers. The active ingredient in Plendil Tabs 10mg is felodipine, which helps relax and widen blood vessels so blood can flow more easily

Suggested Use
Plendil Tabs 10mg is primarily used to treat:
- Hypertension (high blood pressure)
- Prophylaxis of angina pectoris (to prevent chest pain)
Dosage:
- Adults: The usual dose is 10 mg once daily. It can be taken with or without food but should be taken the same way each time.
Dosage adjustments: Your doctor may adjust the dose based on your response to the medication and any side effects.
Warning
- contraindications:
- Known hypersensitivity to Felodipine or any excipient in the formulation.
- Severe hypotension (low blood pressure).
- Acute heart failure or cardiogenic shock.
- Caution:
- Use with caution in patients with severe liver impairment.
- Monitor for worsening of heart failure symptoms.
- May cause significant lowering of blood pressure, especially in patients on concurrent antihypertensive therapy.
- Interactions:
- Avoid grapefruit juice, which increases Felodipine levels in the blood.
- Use cautiously with other antihypertensives, as it may enhance blood pressure-lowering effects.
- Interactions with CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ketoconazole, erythromycin) may increase the drug’s effects.
- Pregnancy and Lactation:
- Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless clearly necessary. Consult your doctor.
- Side Effects:
- Common: Headache, flushing, dizziness, fatigue, swelling (especially in the ankles), and palpitations.
- Rare: Gingival hyperplasia, skin reactions, or severe hypotension.
- Overdose:
- Symptoms include severe hypotension and bradycardia. Seek immediate medical attention if an overdose is suspected.
