Orelox 100mg Tablets is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It is used to treat bacterial infections by inhibiting bacterial growth. Active Substances: Cefpodoxime Proxetil (equivalent to 100 mg Cefpodoxime)

Suggested Use
Orelox is used for the short-term treatment of bacterial infections, including:
- Urinary tract infections
- Skin and soft tissue infections
- Ear infections
- Bone infections
- Bloodstream infections
- Abdominal infections
- Genital infections
- Lung infections (pneumonia)
- Prevention of infections after surgery
Dosage:
- Adults and adolescents: 100 mg every 12 hours for respiratory and urinary tract infections; 200 mg every 12 hours for skin infections.
- Children: 8-10 mg/kg daily in 2 divided doses, up to a maximum of 200 mg daily for respiratory tract infections or 400 mg daily for otitis media or sinusitis.
- Uncomplicated gonorrhoea: A single dose of 200 mg.
Warning
- Do not use if allergic to cefpodoxime, other cephalosporins, or penicillin.
- Dosage adjustment may be necessary.
- Diarrhea is a common side effect.
- Absorption may be decreased by antacids or histamine H2-receptor antagonists.
