Suggested Use
Neurontin is used for:
- Epilepsy: To control partial seizures in adults and children aged 3 years and older.
- Neuropathic Pain: To treat pain associated with conditions like postherpetic neuralgia (pain following shingles).
The dosage of Neurontin varies based on the condition being treated and the patient’s response to the medication.
Warning
- Do not take Neurontin if you are allergic to gabapentin or any of its ingredients.
- Inform your doctor if you have kidney issues, as dosage adjustments may be necessary.
- Some people may experience suicidal thoughts or behaviour while taking Neurontin. Report any mood changes to your doctor immediately.
- This medication can cause dizziness and drowsiness, so avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until you know how it affects you.
- Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. It’s not known if Neurontin is safe during breastfeeding.
