Metformin Denk 1000mg is a prescription medication for managing type 2 diabetes, particularly in overweight individuals when diet and exercise are insufficient. Its active ingredient is metformin hydrochloride.

Suggested Use
Metformin Denk 1000mg is used to:
- Lower high blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes.
- Improve the body’s response to insulin.
- Reduce the risk of diabetes-related complications in overweight patients.
Dosage
- Adults: The usual starting dose is 500 mg or 850 mg metformin hydrochloride 2 or 3 times daily. The maximum recommended dose is 3000 mg daily, taken as 3 divided doses.
- Children (10 years and older): The starting dose is 500 mg twice a day. The maximum dose is 2000 mg daily.
Warning
- Do not use if you have severe kidney disease.
- Avoid if you have metabolic acidosis or diabetic ketoacidosis.
- Rare but serious condition that can occur. Symptoms include unusual muscle pain, trouble breathing, stomach pain, dizziness, feeling cold, or feeling very weak or tired.
- Do not use if you are allergic to metformin.
- Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Do not breastfeed while using this medication.
