Kombiglyze XR Tablets 2.5/1000mg are for adults with Type 2 diabetes to help manage blood sugar levels. They combine saxagliptin (2.5 mg), a DPP-4 inhibitor, and metformin hydrochloride (1000 mg), a biguanide, to improve glycemic control when diet and exercise alone are inadequate.

Suggested Use
Kombiglyze XR is indicated for:
- The management of Type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycemic control in adults.
- Use as an adjunct to diet and exercise.
- It may be used alone or in combination with other antidiabetic medications like sulfonylureas or insulin.
Note: Kombiglyze XR is not intended for treating Type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
Dosage
- Standard Dosage: One tablet daily with the evening meal to reduce gastrointestinal side effects.
- Dosage is individualized based on the patient’s current regimen, effectiveness, and tolerability.
- Renal Function Monitoring: Adjustments may be necessary for patients with reduced kidney function.
Missed Dose: If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose—do not double up.
Warning
- Risk increases with conditions such as sepsis, dehydration, excess alcohol intake, hepatic impairment, renal impairment, and acute congestive heart failure.
- Monitor for signs and symptoms of pancreatitis.
- Discontinue if serious hypersensitivity reactions occur.
- Assess renal function before initiating and periodically during treatment.
- Contraindications: Severe renal impairment, metabolic acidosis, and hypersensitivity to any of the components
