Imipramine 25mg Tablets are a tricyclic antidepressant medication used primarily to treat symptoms of depression and enuresis (bedwetting) in children. Each tablet contains 25mg of Imipramine Hydrochloride.

Uses
- Treatment of depression, particularly when associated with anxiety.
- Management of nocturnal enuresis (bedwetting) in children over 6 years of age.
- Off-label: Treatment of neuropathic pain (as prescribed by a doctor).
Dosage:
For Depression:
- Adults: Start with 25 mg 1–3 times daily. The dose can be gradually increased to 75–150 mg daily in divided doses or as a single dose at bedtime.
- Elderly patients: Start with 10–25 mg daily, gradually increased under supervision.
For Nocturnal Enuresis (Children):
- 6–8 years old: 25 mg at bedtime.
- 9–12 years old: 25–50 mg at bedtime.
- Over 12 years old: 50–75 mg at bedtime.
Duration of treatment for enuresis is typically up to 3 months, as directed by a healthcare professional.
Warning
- Do not use in the following conditions:
- Recent heart attack (myocardial infarction).
- Narrow-angle glaucoma.
- Severe liver or kidney impairment.
- Use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) within the last 14 days.
- Caution is required in patients with:
- Cardiovascular disease.
- Seizure disorders.
- Hyperthyroidism.
- Bipolar disorder (may trigger manic episodes).
- Potential side effects:
- Dry mouth, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision.
- Weight changes, sweating, or constipation.
- Rare: Suicidal thoughts in young adults during initial treatment.
- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Not recommended unless clearly necessary. Consult a healthcare provider.
- Drug interactions:
- Avoid alcohol, as it may increase drowsiness.
- Interactions with SSRIs, anticholinergic drugs, or other antidepressants can lead to serious side effects.
