Suggested Use

Humulin 70/30 is used to improve blood sugar control in adults with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes mellitus. It helps manage blood sugar levels throughout the day and night.

  • Diabetes Mellitus (Type 1 and Type 2): To improve glycemic control in adults and children.
  • Gestational Diabetes: When insulin therapy is required.

Dosage:

Administration: Subcutaneous injection.

  • Adult and Paediatric Dose:
    • Individualized based on blood glucose monitoring.
    • Typically administered 30 minutes before a meal.
  • Mixing/Preparation:
    • Roll the vial gently between your hands to mix. Do not shake forcefully to avoid forming bubbles.

Dosage Adjustment:

  • Adjust based on meal patterns, physical activity, and blood sugar levels.

Warning

  1. Hypoglycemia: Monitor closely, especially during dose adjustments or when switching insulin types.
  2. Injection Site Reactions: Rotate injection sites to prevent lipodystrophy.
  3. Allergic Reactions: Rare, but may occur. Discontinue and seek medical help if symptoms like rash, swelling, or difficulty breathing develop.
  4. Illness/Stress: Blood glucose may increase; insulin dose adjustments may be required.
  5. Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Consult your doctor. Safe use requires monitoring and potential dose modifications.
  6. Drug Interactions:
    • Increased risk of hypoglycemia with other diabetes medications or beta-blockers.
