Herperax 800 Tablets 20’s is an antiviral medication used to manage infections caused by the herpes virus. Each tablet contains the active ingredient Acyclovir 800 mg, which works by inhibiting the replication of viral DNA, thus helping to reduce the severity and duration of herpes outbreaks.

Suggested Use

Herperax 800mg Tablets are used to treat viral infections such as:

  1. Herpes labialis (cold sores)
  2. Genital herpes infection
  3. Chickenpox (varicella)
  4. Shingles (herpes zoster)
  5. Herpes simplex virus infections

Dosage:

  • Herpes labialis: 800 mg every 4 hours, 5 times daily for 7 to 10 days.
  • Genital herpes: Initial episode: 200 mg every 4 hours, 5 times daily for 10 days. Recurrent episodes: 200 mg every 4 hours, 5 times daily for 5 days.
  • Chickenpox: Adults and children over 40 kg: 800 mg 4 times daily for 5 days. Children under 40 kg: 20 mg/kg per dose, 4 times daily for 5 days.
  • Shingles: 800 mg every 4 hours, 5 times daily for 7 to 10 days.
  • Herpes simplex virus infections: 200 mg every 4 hours, 5 times daily for 5 to 10 days.

Warning

  • Do not use if you are allergic to acyclovir or any of the other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Kidney Problems: Use with caution if you have kidney problems, as acyclovir can affect kidney function.
  • Hydration: Drink plenty of water while taking this medication to prevent dehydration and kidney damage.
  • Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive, or breastfeeding before using this medication.
  • Side Effects: Common side effects include headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and fatigue. If these side effects persist or worsen, contact your healthcare provider.
