Suggested Use

Getryl 4mg Tablets are used for:

Controlling blood glucose levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet, exercise, and weight loss alone are not sufficient.
Reducing the risk of complications associated with diabetes, such as kidney damage and blindness.

Dosage

The usual starting dose is 1-2mg once daily, taken with breakfast or the first main meal. For those sensitive to hypoglycemic drugs, the starting dose should be 1mg once daily.
The maintenance dose typically ranges from 1 to 4mg once daily, with a maximum recommended dose of 8mg once daily.

Dose increases should be made in increments of no more than 2mg at 1-2 week intervals based on the patient’s blood glucose response.

Warning

Do not use Getryl 4mg Tablets if you are allergic to glimepiride or any other ingredients in the tablet.
This medication is not intended for the treatment of type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
Inform your doctor if you have any kidney or liver problems, as this medication may need to be adjusted or discontinued.
Possible side effects include hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), weight gain, gastrointestinal issues such as nausea and diarrhoea, and headache. If you experience severe side effects, contact your healthcare provider immediately
