Getryl 2mg Tablets are used to help control blood sugar in individuals with Type 2 Diabetes. Getryl 2mg Tablets is often combined with a balanced diet, exercise, and possibly other diabetes treatments for effective blood sugar control. Each tablet has 2mg of Glimepiride.

Suggested Use
- Management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: Helps to reduce high blood sugar levels in patients where diet, exercise, and weight loss alone are insufficient.
- Preventing Diabetes-Related Complications: By maintaining optimal blood glucose levels, Getryl can help reduce the risk of complications like kidney damage, nerve issues, and cardiovascular diseases.
Dosage:
- Initial Dose: 1mg once daily with breakfast or the first main meal.
- Maintenance Dose: The dose may be gradually increased based on the patient’s response, typically in 1mg increments, up to a maximum of 8mg daily.
- Administration: Swallow the tablet whole with water. Take it at the same time each day for consistent blood sugar control.
Warning
- May cause low blood sugar. Symptoms include sweating, dizziness, hunger, and confusion. Always carry a source of sugar.
- This medication is ineffective in patients with Type 1 Diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Not recommended. Consult your doctor for alternative treatment options.
- Avoid excessive alcohol consumption as it can interfere with blood sugar control.
- Use with caution in patients with impaired liver or kidney function. Regular monitoring is advised.
- Inform your doctor about other medications, such as NSAIDs, beta-blockers, or other antidiabetic drugs, as they may enhance or reduce the effects of glimepiride.
