Diracip M DS is a strong treatment for mixed intestinal infections. It has Diloxanide Furoate BP and Metronidazole BP in each tablet. Diloxanide Furoate BP is effective against intestinal amoebiasis, while Metronidazole BP targets anaerobic bacteria and protozoa.

Diracip M DS is used to treat Amoebiasis, which includes both acute and chronic intestinal infections, as well as mixed intestinal infections caused by both protozoal and bacterial pathogens. It is also effective for treating diarrheal conditions associated with protozoal infections. For adults, the recommended dosage is one tablet three times a day (every 8 hours) after meals, for a duration of 5 to 10 days, or as instructed by a healthcare professional. The dosage for children should be determined by a healthcare professional, taking into consideration their body weight and the severity of the infection.

Please consult your healthcare provider before using this medication if you have any allergies to Diloxanide Furoate, Metronidazole, or any other ingredients. Inform your healthcare provider if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Patients with hepatic impairment should use this medication with caution and may require regular liver function monitoring. Avoid alcohol consumption during treatment and for at least 48 hours after the last dose. Watch out for side effects like dizziness, headache, or seizures and seek medical advice if you experience any neurological symptoms. Inform your healthcare provider about all medications you are taking as there may be interactions. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and a metallic taste. Serious side effects are rare but may include severe allergic reactions, liver toxicity, and neurological disturbances.
