Suggested Use
Dalacin C 300mg Capsules are indicated for the treatment of the following bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms:
- Respiratory tract infections (e.g., pneumonia, bronchitis).
- Skin and soft tissue infections (e.g., cellulitis, abscesses).
- Bone and joint infections (e.g., osteomyelitis).
- Intra-abdominal infections (e.g., peritonitis).
- Gynecological infections (e.g., pelvic inflammatory disease).
- Dental infections.
Dosage:
The dosage of Dalacin C 300mg Capsules should be determined by a healthcare professional based on the type and severity of the infection. Common guidelines include:
- Adults and adolescents (≥12 years):
- 150-300mg every 6 hours.
- For more severe infections: 300-450mg every 6 hours.
- Children (<12 years):
- The dose is calculated based on body weight (8-20mg/kg/day in divided doses).
Capsules should be taken with a full glass of water to avoid oesophagal irritation. Treatment duration typically ranges from 7-14 days, depending on the infection.
Warning

- Avoid if allergic to clindamycin or lincomycin.
- Discontinue immediately if signs of hypersensitivity (rash, swelling, difficulty breathing)
- May cause severe diarrhea due to CDAD. Seek medical attention if diarrhoea persists.
- Use with caution in patients with liver or kidney disease; dosage adjustments may be necessary.
- Use only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Clindamycin is excreted in breast milk; consult a healthcare provider before use.
- Avoid concurrent use with erythromycin (antagonistic effect).
- May potentiate the effects of neuromuscular blockers.
- Swallow whole with water to reduce the risk of oesophagal irritation.
Note: Always complete the full course of antibiotics even if symptoms improve to prevent resistance.
