Dafraclav 228mg BD Suspension contains amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. Used in children and adults who require a liquid formulation, it provides a broad spectrum of activity against various bacterial infections. Active Ingredients: Amoxicillin 200 mg and Clavulanic acid 28 mg/5ml

Suggested Use
Dafraclav is indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections, including:
- Middle ear infections (otitis media)
- Sinusitis
- Tonsillitis
- Pharyngitis
- Laryngitis
- Chronic bronchitis (superinfection)
- Community-acquired pneumonia
- Urinary tract infections
- Skin and skin structure infections, including dental infections
- Bone and joint infections
Dosage and Administration:
- The dosage is determined based on the patient’s age, weight, and the severity of the infection.
- Typical Dosage: 25-45mg/kg/day in divided doses every 12 hours.
- Maximum Dose: 2000mg/day of amoxicillin.
Instructions for Use:
- Shake the bottle well before use.
- Administer using a proper measuring device.
- Administer with food to minimize gastrointestinal side effects.
- Complete the entire course of therapy as prescribed, even if symptoms improve.
Warning
-
- Do not use in patients allergic to penicillins, cephalosporins, or other beta-lactam antibiotics.
- Use with caution in patients with liver dysfunction. Monitor liver function tests during prolonged use.
- Dosage adjustment may be required for patients with kidney disease.
- May cause diarrhoea, nausea, or vomiting. Contact a healthcare provider if severe diarrhoea occurs a (potential sign of Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhoea).
- May reduce the efficacy of oral contraceptives. Use additional non-hormonal contraceptive measures.
- Discontinue immediately if an allergic reaction occurs.
Storage Instructions:
- Store the reconstituted suspension in a refrigerator (2–8°C).
- Discard any unused suspension after 7 days.
