Bipreterax 10mg/2.5mg is prescribed as a substitution therapy for the treatment of essential hypertension. The medication contains two active ingredients: 6.79 mg perindopril, which is equivalent to 10 mg perindopril arginine, and 2.5 mg indapamide. Perindopril, an ACE inhibitor, widens the blood vessels, facilitating smoother blood flow and reducing the workload on the heart. Indapamide, a diuretic, increases urine production by the kidneys.

Bipreterax 10mg/2.5mg is employed in the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure). It is prescribed to patients who are already taking perindopril 10 mg and indapamide 2.5 mg separately. The recommended daily dosage is one tablet of Bipreterax 10mg/2.5mg, to be taken as a single dose in the morning and prior to a meal. In elderly patients, adjustments to plasma creatinine levels should be made based on age, weight, and gender.

Warning
Bipreterax 10mg/2.5mg is contraindicated for patients who have allergies to perindopril or any other ACE inhibitor, as well as indapamide or any other sulphonamides. It should not be taken by individuals with severe liver disease, severe or moderate renal impairment, hepatic encephalopathy, hypokalaemia, or those in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. If patients experience severe side effects such as severe dizziness, fainting due to low blood pressure, bronchospasm, facial or tongue swelling, intense itching, severe skin rashes, cardiovascular disorders, weakness in the arms or legs, or difficulties speaking, immediate medical attention should be sought and the medication should be discontinued.
