ActivHeal® Aquafiber Extra
KSh 11,000.00 – KSh 18,000.00
ActivHeal® Aquafiber Extra Dressing is a highly absorbent, soft, and conformable wound dressing designed for managing moderately to heavily exuding acute and chronic wounds. It combines Carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) and alginate fibers, which transform into a soft, cohesive gel upon contact with wound exudate. This gel promotes a moist wound healing environment, aids autolytic debridement, and features a hidden integrity layer for enhanced tensile strength.
Aquafiber Extra
Why You'll Love It
- Highly Absorbent: ActivHeal® Aquafiber Extra Dressing can absorb large amounts of exudate, reducing the frequency of dressing changes and minimizing disruption to the patient.
- Moist Wound Healing: The dressing forms a soft gel that maintains a moist environment, which is essential for optimal wound healing.
- Strong and Conformable: The hidden integrity layer and quilting pattern provide superior tensile strength, even when wet, ensuring the dressing remains intact during removal.
- Versatile: Suitable for a wide range of wound types, including pressure ulcers, venous leg ulcers, diabetic ulcers, and post-operative surgical wounds.
Suggested Use
- Cleanse the Wound: Thoroughly clean the wound area with an appropriate wound cleanser or saline solution.
- Apply the Dressing: Place the ActivHeal® Aquafiber Extra Dressing directly onto the wound, ensuring it covers the entire wound bed. For deeper wounds, use the ribbon version of the dressing.
- Secure with Secondary Dressing: Cover the ActivHeal® Aquafiber Extra Dressing with an appropriate secondary dressing to keep it in place.
- Change as Needed: The dressing can remain in situ for up to 7 days, depending on the level of exudate. Change the dressing when it becomes saturated or as directed by a healthcare professional.
Caution
- Avoid Use on Dry Wounds: ActivHeal® Aquafiber Extra Dressing is designed for moderate to heavily exuding wounds and should not be used on dry wounds.
- Monitor for Allergic Reactions: Patients with known allergies to alginate or CMC should avoid using this dressing. Discontinue use if any signs of allergic reaction occur.
- Consult a Healthcare Professional: Always consult a healthcare professional before using this dressing, especially for patients with complex or chronic wounds.
