Micromox 400mg Tablets are a powerful antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. Each tablet contains 400mg of moxifloxacin hydrochloride, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone. Micromox is effective against a diverse array of both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, making it a dependable option for treating infections.

Suggested Use

Micromox 400mg Tablets are used to treat the following bacterial infections:

  1. Respiratory Tract Infections: Including acute and chronic bronchitis, pneumonia, and sinusitis.
  2. ENT Infections: Such as otitis media, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, and laryngitis.
  3. Urinary Tract Infections: Including pyelonephritis, cystitis, and urethritis.
  4. Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: Such as cellulitis, infected wounds, and abscesses.
  5. Gastrointestinal Infections: Including typhoid and paratyphoid.
  6. Obstetric and Gynecological Infections: Such as bacteriuria in pregnancy, septic abortion, and puerperal sepsis.
  7. Venereal Infections: Including gonorrhoea and syphilis.

Dosage

  • Adults: The recommended dose is one 400mg tablet taken once daily. The duration of treatment depends on the severity and type of infection but typically ranges from 7 to 21 days.

Instructions: Take the tablet with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the tablet.

Warning

  • Moxifloxacin can increase the risk of tendonitis and tendon rupture, especially in older adults and those taking corticosteroids.
  • This medication may cause nerve damage, leading to pain, burning, tingling, numbness, or weakness in the arms, hands, legs, or feet.
  • Moxifloxacin can cause convulsions, psychosis, and increased intracranial pressure. It may also cause tremors, anxiety, agitation, confusion, and hallucinations.
  • Patients with myasthenia gravis should avoid this medication as it can exacerbate muscle weakness.
  • Severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis, may occur. Discontinue use and seek immediate medical attention if you experience symptoms such as rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, or trouble breathing.
  • Not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless absolutely necessary.
  •  Not suitable for children under 18 years or elderly individuals over 65 years without medical supervision.
