Toras Denk 5mg Tabs is a diuretic used to treat fluid retention (oedema) and hypertension (high blood pressure). It rids your body of excess salt and water by increasing urine production. Active Substances: Torasemide: 5 mg per tablet.

Toras-Denk 5mg Tablets are indicated for:
- Treatment of oedema (fluid retention) associated with heart failure, liver disease, kidney disease, or lung disease.
- Management of hypertension (high blood pressure).
Dosage:
The typical dosage for Toras-Denk 5mg is:
- Initial Dose: 1 tablet (5 mg) once daily.
The dosage may be adjusted based on the patient’s condition and response to treatment. It is important to follow the prescribing physician’s instructions regarding dosage and duration of therapy.
Warning
- Contraindications:
- Allergy to torasemide or other sulfonylureas.
- Severe kidney failure (anuria).
- Significant electrolyte imbalances.
- Severe liver failure with pre-coma or coma.
- Precautions:
- Monitor electrolyte levels, especially potassium and magnesium, to avoid imbalances.
- Caution in patients with diabetes, as torasemide may increase blood glucose levels.
- Use with caution in patients with gout or a history of uric acid kidney stones.
- Pregnancy and Lactation:
- Not recommended during pregnancy unless clearly necessary. Consult a doctor before use.
- Breastfeeding is not recommended as torasemide may pass into breast milk.
- Side Effects:
- Common: Dizziness, headache, dehydration, increased urination.
- Serious: Electrolyte imbalances, low blood pressure (hypotension), hearing disturbances (rare).
- Drug Interactions:
- May increase the risk of side effects when used with other diuretics, corticosteroids, or digoxin.
- Reduced effectiveness of antidiabetic medications.
- Increased risk of kidney damage when combined with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
- Driving and Machinery Use:
- Avoid driving or operating machinery if dizziness or light-headedness occurs.
