Tenormin Tabs 100mg is primarily used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), chest pain (angina), and to improve survival after a heart attack (myocardial infarction). Active Substances: Atenolol 100mg per tablet.

Suggested Use
Tenormin is used for:
- Hypertension: To lower high blood pressure.
- Angina Pectoris: To prevent chest pain due to heart disease.
- Cardiac Arrhythmias: To manage irregular heartbeats.
- Myocardial Infarction: To reduce the risk of further heart complications after a heart attack.
Dosage:
- Adults: The typical starting dose for hypertension is 50 mg once daily.
Dosage may be adjusted based on individual response and may increase to 100 mg per day if necessary. Administration: Tablets should be taken orally, with or without food.
Warning
- May cause allergic reactions, including rashes, itching, or swelling.
- Can worsen symptoms in patients with certain heart problems, such as bradycardia (slow heart rate), heart block, or heart failure.
- Use with caution in patients with asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) as it may exacerbate symptoms.
- Can mask signs of low blood sugar in diabetic patients, so caution is advised in those with diabetes.
- Patients with kidney or liver problems may require dose adjustments.
- Not recommended during pregnancy unless necessary. Consult your doctor before use during breastfeeding.
- Do not suddenly stop taking Tenormin, as it may cause a sudden increase in blood pressure or worsen heart conditions. Gradual reduction under a doctor’s guidance is essential.
- Possible side effects include dizziness, tiredness, nausea, slow heartbeat, or cold extremities.
