Tenoret Tablet 50 mg is prescribed for:
- Hypertension (High Blood Pressure): Helps lower and maintain blood pressure within normal ranges.
- Angina (Chest Pain): Prevents episodes of angina by improving the heart’s oxygen supply.
- Cardiac Arrhythmias: Manages irregular heartbeats by slowing down the heart rate.
The typical dosage for adults is:
- One tablet daily, taken orally, with or without food. The dosage may be adjusted based on individual patient response and blood pressure levels.
Warning
- Not recommended for individuals with severe bradycardia (slow heart rate), heart block, or a history of severe asthma.
- Caution is advised for those with diabetes, as atenolol can mask signs of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).
- Possible side effects: Fatigue, dizziness, cold extremities (hands and feet), headache, nausea, and low blood pressure.
- Serious side effects (rare): Severe bradycardia, hypotension (low blood pressure), and shortness of breath. Seek medical attention if these occur.
