Atenolol Denk 50 is primarily prescribed for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), angina pectoris (chest pain), and certain types of cardiac dysrhythmias (irregular heartbeats). Additionally, Atenolol is used in the acute phase of myocardial infarction (heart attack) and for long-term prevention after recovery from such events. Active Substance: Atenolol 50 mg per tablet.

Suggested Use
Atenolol Denk 50 is indicated for:
- Management of hypertension (high blood pressure) to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events.
- Treatment of angina pectoris (chest pain) by improving blood flow to the heart.
- Management of arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats).
- Prevention of myocardial infarction (heart attack) in high-risk patients.
Dosage:
- Adults:
- Hypertension: 50 mg once daily. If necessary, the dose may be increased to 100 mg once daily or divided into two doses.
- Angina pectoris: 50 mg once daily, increased to 100 mg if needed.
- Arrhythmias: 50–100 mg daily as directed by a physician.
- Elderly or renal impairment: Dose adjustment may be required based on kidney function.
Warning
- Hypotension: Atenolol may cause low blood pressure; symptoms include dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting. Patients should be monitored for these effects.
- Bronchospasm: This medication can tighten airway muscles, potentially leading to breathing difficulties. Immediate medical attention is required if breathing problems occur.
- Allergic Reactions: Serious allergic reactions are possible; symptoms include rash, itching, swelling, or difficulty breathing.
- Special Populations: Caution is advised when prescribing to elderly patients and those with renal impairment due to altered drug metabolism and excretion.
