Suggested Use
Tegretol CR Divitabs 200mg is used to treat:
- Epilepsy: Effective for generalized tonic-clonic and partial seizures.
- Trigeminal Neuralgia: A painful condition affecting the face.
- Bipolar Disorder: Helps control acute mania and maintenance treatment to prevent recurrence.
- Alcohol Withdrawal Syndrome: Manages symptoms during withdrawal.
- Painful Diabetic Neuropathy: Relieves pain associated with diabetic nerve damage.
- Idiopathic Glossopharyngeal Neuralgia: Treats pain in the throat.
Dosage:
- Epilepsy: Start with 100-200mg once or twice daily, gradually increasing to a maintenance dose of 400-800mg daily.
- Bipolar Disorder: The initial dose is 100-200mg daily, which may be increased to 400-800mg daily.
- Trigeminal Neuralgia: Typically 100-200mg twice daily.
- Alcohol Withdrawal Syndrome: 200mg three times daily, which may be increased to 400mg three times daily in severe cases.
- Painful Diabetic Neuropathy: 100-200mg twice daily.
Warning
- Do not use if you are allergic to carbamazepine or any other ingredients.
- Consult your doctor if you have any heart conditions.
- Avoid if you have had bone marrow problems.
- Porphyria: Not suitable for individuals with this blood disorder.
- Avoid using MAOIs within the last 14 days.
- Suicidal Thoughts: Some people taking anticonvulsants have had thoughts of self-harm.
