Procoralan 5mg tablets lower heart rate by blocking the If current in the sinoatrial node. They are used for specific heart conditions to improve symptoms and reduce hospitalization risk. Each coated tablet contains 5mg of the active ingredient Ivabradine.

Suggested Use

Procoralan is used for:

Symptomatic treatment of chronic stable angina pectoris in adults with coronary artery disease and normal sinus rhythm. It is indicated for patients who cannot tolerate beta-blockers or in combination with beta-blockers when the heart rate is ≥ 70 bpm.
Treatment of chronic heart failure in adults with sinus rhythm and a heart rate ≥ 75 bpm, in combination with standard therapy or when beta-blocker therapy is contraindicated or not tolerated.

The dosage will be personalized by the healthcare provider based on the specific condition being treated.

Warning

Do not use Procoralan in the following cases:
- Severe bradycardia (heart rate <60 bpm before treatment).
- Cardiogenic shock.
- Acute myocardial infarction.
- Severe hypotension (blood pressure <90/50 mmHg).
- Unstable angina or recent heart attack (<6 months).
- Severe hepatic impairment.
- Use of potent CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ketoconazole, itraconazole).
Use with caution in:
- Atrial fibrillation or other cardiac arrhythmias.
- Patients prone to QT interval prolongation.
- Moderate hepatic or renal impairment.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding:
- Procoralan should not be used during pregnancy or lactation due to potential risks to the fetus or infant.
Visual disturbances:
- Procoralan may cause transient visual brightness (phosphenes). Caution is advised when driving or operating machinery, especially at night.
Drug interactions:
- Avoid grapefruit juice and medications that inhibit CYP3A4.
