Lamisil 250mg Tablets treat various fungal infections by inhibiting fungal growth. Effective for skin, nails, and other infections, they promote healing. The active ingredient is Terbinafine Hydrochloride 250mg.
Anti-Fungals
Suggested Use
Lamisil 250mg Tablets are indicated for the treatment of:
- Fungal infections of the nails (onychomycosis) caused by dermatophyte fungi
- Fungal infections of the skin including:
- Tinea corporis (ringworm)
- Tinea cruris (jock itch)
- Tinea pedis (athlete’s foot)
- Yeast infections of the skin caused by Candida species
- Other fungal conditions as prescribed by a healthcare professional
Dosage:
- Adults:
- The standard dose is 1 tablet (250mg) once daily.
- Duration of treatment:
- Onychomycosis (nail infections): 6–12 weeks
- Skin infections: 2–6 weeks depending on the site and severity of the infection.
- Children: Lamisil Tablets are not generally recommended for use in children under 12 years.
- Elderly: No specific dosage adjustment is required unless underlying liver or kidney conditions are present.
Warning
- Severe liver damage, sometimes leading to liver transplant or death, has occurred with the use of oral terbinafine. Symptoms include nausea, upper stomach pain, vomiting, loss of appetite, tiredness, dark urine, clay-colored stools, and jaundice.
- Changes in taste or smell, including loss, have been reported and may be long-lasting or permanent.
- Serious allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis, have been reported. Symptoms include fever, swollen lymph nodes, rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, and trouble breathing.
- Common side effects include gastrointestinal discomfort (nausea, diarrhoea), headache, dizziness, and skin rash. Rare but serious side effects include liver problems, severe allergic reactions, or changes in the sense of taste’
