Lamisil 125mg Tablets are used to fight different types of fungal infections. The main ingredient, terbinafine hydrochloride, stops the production of ergosterol, which is crucial for fungal cell membranes. This action helps to kill the fungus.

Suggested Use
Lamisil 125mg Tablets are used to treat fungal infections of the skin and nails, including:
- Onychomycosis (fungal nail infection)
- Tinea pedis (athlete’s foot)
- Tinea cruris (jock itch)
- Tinea corporis (ringworm).
Dosage:
- Adults: Typically, one 125 mg tablet taken once daily. The duration of treatment varies depending on the type and severity of the infection but usually ranges from 2 to 12 weeks.
- Children: Dosage is based on body weight. For children weighing less than 20 kg, 62.5 mg (half a 125 mg tablet) once daily; for those weighing 20 to 40 kg, 125 mg once daily; and for those over 40 kg, 250 mg once daily.
Warning
- Severe liver damage, including liver failure, has been reported. Symptoms include nausea, upper stomach pain, vomiting, loss of appetite, tiredness, dark urine, clay-colored stools, and jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes). Discontinue use and seek medical attention if these symptoms occur.
- Known hypersensitivity to terbinafine or any of the excipients in Lamisil tablets.
- Common side effects include gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea, diarrhoea), headache, dizziness, or rash. Rare but serious side effects can involve liver issues, allergic reactions, or changes in taste.
