- Pertussis: Also known as whooping cough, a highly contagious respiratory disease.
- Hepatitis B: A viral infection that affects the liver.
- Poliomyelitis: A viral disease that can cause paralysis.
- Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib): A bacterial infection that can cause severe diseases such as meningitis.
Dosage and Administration
- Recommended Schedule: Infanrix Hexa is typically administered as part of a primary vaccination series. The standard schedule includes three doses at 6, 10, and 14 weeks or two doses starting from 2 months, with a booster as per local guidelines.
- Route of Administration: The vaccine is given intramuscularly, preferably in the thigh for infants.
