- Administration: Subcutaneous injection.
- Timing: Typically administered within 15 minutes before a meal.
- Adjustment: Dosage may need to be adjusted based on factors such as diet, exercise, and concurrent medications.
Warning
- Hypoglycaemia:
- The most common adverse effect; monitor blood glucose regularly.
- Recognize signs like sweating, dizziness, shakiness, or confusion.
- Hyperglycaemia/DKA Risk:
- May result from inadequate dosing or missed injections.
- Allergic Reactions:
- Local or systemic allergic reactions may occur. Seek medical attention if symptoms like rash, swelling, or difficulty breathing develop.
- Drug Interactions:
- Caution with beta-blockers, corticosteroids, oral antidiabetics, and other medications that may affect blood glucose levels.
- Storage:
- Keep refrigerated at 2 °C–8 °C. Do not freeze.
- Once opened, store at room temperature (<30°C) for up to 28 days.
- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding:
