Suggested Use

Glipita 100 Tablet is used to:

  1. Manage blood glucose levels in type 2 diabetes. It can be used alone or in combination with other medications, such as metformin or sulfonylureas, for better blood sugar control.
  2. Improve glycemic control in adult patients with type 2 diabetes when diet and exercise alone are insufficient.

Adults: The usual dose is 100 mg once daily, taken orally with or without food. If you have kidney problems, your doctor may adjust the dose based on your renal function.

Warning

  •  If you are allergic to sitagliptin or any of the other ingredients in this medicine, do not take Glipita.
  • There have been reports of acute pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas) in some patients. If you experience symptoms such as severe abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting, seek medical attention immediately.
  • Glipita should be used with caution in patients with kidney impairment. Your doctor may need to monitor your kidney function regularly.
  • When used in combination with other anti-diabetic drugs, especially sulfonylureas or insulin, Glipita may increase the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Ensure proper blood glucose monitoring and adjust the dose of other anti-diabetic medications if needed.
  • If you have heart problems, particularly heart failure, use Glipita with caution, and consult your doctor about the potential risks.
  • Glipita is not recommended during pregnancy unless absolutely necessary. It should be avoided while breastfeeding unless advised by a healthcare professional.
  •  Inform your doctor of all other medications you are taking, especially other diabetes medications, blood pressure medications, and any drugs that may affect kidney function.
