Management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: Helps to reduce high blood sugar levels in patients where diet, exercise, and weight loss alone are insufficient.
Preventing Diabetes-Related Complications: By maintaining optimal blood glucose levels, Getryl can help reduce the risk of complications like kidney damage, nerve issues, and cardiovascular diseases.

Dosage:

Initial Dose: 1mg once daily with breakfast or the first main meal.
Maintenance Dose: The dose may be gradually increased based on the patient’s response, typically in 1mg increments, up to a maximum of 8mg daily.
Administration: Swallow the tablet whole with water. Take it at the same time each day for consistent blood sugar control.

Warning

May cause low blood sugar. Symptoms include sweating, dizziness, hunger, and confusion. Always carry a source of sugar.
This medication is ineffective in patients with Type 1 Diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Not recommended. Consult your doctor for alternative treatment options.
Avoid excessive alcohol consumption as it can interfere with blood sugar control.
Use with caution in patients with impaired liver or kidney function. Regular monitoring is advised.
Inform your doctor about other medications, such as NSAIDs, beta-blockers, or other antidiabetic drugs, as they may enhance or reduce the effects of glimepiride.
