Galvus 50mg Tablets help control blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes. The main ingredient, vildagliptin, is a DPP-4 inhibitor that works by boosting insulin release and lowering glucagon levels in the blood.

Suggested Use

Galvus 50mg Tablets are used for:

  1. Improving glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
  2. Can be used alone or in combination with other antidiabetic medications such as metformin, sulfonylureas, or insulin when these do not provide adequate glycemic control.
Dosage
  • The usual dose is 50mg taken once or twice daily, depending on the combination with other medications.
  • When used alone or in combination with metformin or a thiazolidinedione, the recommended dose is 50mg twice daily (morning and evening).
  • When used in combination with a sulfonylurea, the recommended dose is 50mg once daily in the morning.

Follow your doctor’s instructions regarding the dosage and duration of treatment.

Warning

  • Do not use Galvus 50mg Tablets if you are allergic to vildagliptin or any other ingredients in the tablet.
  • This medication is not intended for the treatment of type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
  • Inform your doctor if you have any kidney or liver problems, as this medication may need to be adjusted or discontinued.
  • Possible side effects include dizziness, headache, constipation, and upper respiratory tract infection. If you experience severe side effects, contact your healthcare provider immediately.
