Ercefuryl 200mg Capsules are an antibiotic for treating bacterial infections in the digestive system. Containing 200mg of nifuroxazide, they inhibit harmful bacteria in the intestines and are primarily used for acute diarrhoea and other gastrointestinal infections caused by sensitive bacteria.

Suggested Use
Ercefuryl 200mg Capsules are primarily used for the treatment of:
- Acute bacterial diarrhoea (gastroenteritis)
- Diarrhoea caused by various microorganisms sensitive to nifuroxazide
- Adjunctive treatment in infectious diarrhoea where bacterial involvement is suspected
Dosage:
- Adults: 1 capsule (200mg) 3 times a day, for up to 7 days.
- Children (6 to 12 years): 1 capsule (200mg) 2 to 3 times a day, for up to 7 days.
- Children (under 6 years): Consult a healthcare provider for appropriate dosage.
Note: It is important to follow the prescribed dosage and duration of treatment. If symptoms persist beyond 48 hours or worsen, consult a doctor.
Warning
- Do not use Ercefuryl if you are allergic to nifuroxazide or any of the other ingredients in the formulation.
- This medication should not be used in the presence of systemic infections (such as fever, blood in stools, or significant dehydration) or for conditions that may require systemic antibiotics.
- Ercefuryl is intended for use in treating diarrhoea caused by bacterial infections. It is not effective against viral infections (e.g., flu or cold).
- If you have liver or kidney issues, consult your doctor before using this product.
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using Ercefuryl.
- As with all medications, be cautious about using Ercefuryl in combination with other treatments without professional guidance.
- Some common side effects include mild gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea, or vomiting. If you experience severe side effects such as a rash, itching, or breathing difficulty, seek immediate medical attention.
