Co-Aprovel 300mg/12.5mg Tablets is a combination antihypertensive medication that’s prescribed to manage high blood pressure (hypertension). It combines two active ingredients with complementary actions to help lower and maintain blood pressure levels effectively. Active Substances: Irbesartan (300mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg per tablet.

Suggested Use
CO-Aprovel is used to treat essential hypertension (high blood pressure) in adults whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by irbesartan or hydrochlorothiazide alone.
Dosage:
- Initial Therapy: The usual starting dose is 150 mg/12.5 mg once daily.
- Maintenance Therapy: The dose may be increased to 300 mg/12.5 mg once daily if blood pressure is not adequately controlled.
- Maximum Dose: Do not exceed 300 mg irbesartan/25 mg hydrochlorothiazide once daily.
Warning
- Do not use in patients allergic to irbesartan, hydrochlorothiazide, or sulfonamide derivatives.
- Regular monitoring is required, particularly in patients with renal impairment. Avoid use in severe renal disease.
- Hydrochlorothiazide may cause imbalances such as hypokalemia, hypercalcaemia, or hyponatraemia. Monitor electrolytes regularly.
- Caution in patients with mild to moderate hepatic impairment. Avoid use in severe hepatic dysfunction.
- Contraindicated during pregnancy and not recommended while breastfeeding.
- Ensure proper hydration to avoid hypotension, especially in patients on diuretics or with salt depletion.
- Avoid concomitant use with potassium supplements, potassium-sparing diuretics, or lithium unless closely monitored.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include:
- Dizziness, headache, fatigue, or nausea.
- Increased urination and mild electrolyte disturbances.
- Rare but severe reactions: angioedema, severe hypotension, or renal dysfunction.
