Avamys 27.5mcg Nasal Spray helps relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as congestion, sneezing, and a runny or itchy nose. It reduces inflammation in the nasal passages, providing quick and lasting relief for both adults and kids.Active Substance Fluticasone furoate (27.5 mcg per spray).

Nasal Sprays

Suggested Use

Avamys is indicated for:

  1. Treatment of symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever) in adults and children aged 6 years and older.
  2. Relief from symptoms including:
    • Nasal congestion
    • Runny or itchy nose
    • Sneezing
    • Itchy or watery eyes
Dosage:

Adults and adolescents (12 years and older):

  • Initial dose: 2 sprays in each nostril once daily (total daily dose: 110 mcg).
  • Maintenance dose: Once symptoms are controlled, reduce to 1 spray per nostril once daily (total daily dose: 55 mcg).

Children (6 to 11 years):

  • 1 spray in each nostril once daily.
  • If symptoms are severe, the dose can be increased to 2 sprays in each nostril once daily, then reduced to 1 spray once symptoms are controlled.

Children under 6 years:

  • Not recommended due to insufficient safety and efficacy data.

 

Warning

  1. Avoid use if allergic to fluticasone furoate or any other ingredients in the spray.
  2. Prolonged use of high doses may lead to systemic corticosteroid effects, such as adrenal suppression.
  3. Use with caution in individuals with glaucoma or cataracts, as corticosteroids may exacerbate these conditions.
  4. Avoid use if there are untreated nasal infections or if nasal mucosa is damaged or has not fully healed post-surgery.
  5. Pregnancy and lactation: Use only if clearly needed and after consultation with a healthcare provider.
  6. Children: Regular monitoring is recommended when used for extended periods, as corticosteroids may impact growth.
  7. Use with caution in individuals with untreated systemic infections, including tuberculosis.

Side Effects:

Common:

  • Nasal irritation or discomfort.
  • Nosebleeds.

Rare:

  • Hypersensitivity reactions, including rash, itching, or swelling.
  • Changes in vision or worsening of existing eye conditions.

Storage Instructions:
  • Store at temperatures not exceeding 30 °C.
  • Do not freeze.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
