Aquacel Extra is an advanced wound dressing specially developed for the management of moderate to heavily exuding wounds. Its double-layer Hydrofiber Technology makes it nine times stronger and 39% more absorbent than the original Aquacel. It transforms into a gel upon contact with wound exudate, effectively contouring to the wound bed and eliminating dead space, which helps reduce bioburden and promotes a moist healing environment. Active Substances: sodium carboxymethylcellulose and regenerated cellulose fibers.

Suggested Use
quacel Extra is suitable for a variety of wound types, including:
- Leg ulcers
- Pressure ulcers (Stage II-IV)
- Diabetic ulcers
- Surgical wounds (e.g., post-operative wounds left to heal by secondary intent and donor sites)
- Partial thickness burns
- Traumatic wounds (e.g., abrasions and lacerations)
- Oncology wounds (e.g., fungating cutaneous tumours, cutaneous metastases, and Kaposi’s sarcomas)
Dosage:
The dressing should be applied directly to the wound, ensuring it overlaps the wound edges by at least 1 cm. It is recommended to change the dressing as per the advice of a healthcare professional, typically every 7 days or sooner if it becomes saturated.
Warning
- Do not use if the individual dressing package is open or damaged.
- Store at room temperature and in a dry place.
- If you experience new or increasing pain, redness, swelling, or leakage, contact your healthcare professional immediately.
- Do not leave the dressing in place for more than 7 days.
